gay victim memorial inaugurated

The memorial for all gay victims of the Nazi times has been inaugurated in Berlin. After a long fight the federal parliament decided to build the memorial in 2003. The memorial shall not only commemorate the persecution of gay in the Third Reich. The discussions held around the construction of the memorial show, how ever-present the discrimination of gay people is up until today.

The memorial is a concrete ashlar, opening a window to an everlasting movie with two kissing men. It is placed in Tiergarten.
